Hasbro has kicked off an avatar building promotion to promote next month's
release of G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra, a live-action adventure film starring
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The
promotion encourages visitors to GIJoe.com to “pick a side” and create either a
G.I. Joe or COBRA avatar. Users then customize the avatar with unique uniforms
and gear, tell the story of their character, and what skills they would
bring to either the G.I. Joe or COBRA team. Hasbro will pick 39 of the best
entries -– those with the most creative characters -- and will have
their faces scanned and put on the body of a 3.75 inch real-world action figure.
