The Club Sponsors Clubs in Second Life with This Second Marketing
Yesterday vehicle security device maker The Club began a campaign in Second Life organized by This Second Marketing. Marketing in Second Life has been on the wane since the backlash against the world began over a year ago. Paradoxically, the active user base is growing. It's not reaching mammoth numbers to make media buyers drool, but Second Marketing President Joni West seems to take that into account, running more limited campaigns for $10,000 to $100,000, according to a Fast Company article last month.
The Club will be supporting six Second Life virtual raceways with a 10-week sponsorship program. At each venue, kiosks will distribute free virtual items to users and present a brand ambassador avatar in the shape of a Club. The company is also hosting its own music (wait for it, because I actually really appreciate this) club [SLURL] and sponsoring a contest awarding 5,000 Lindens each to the two users who come up with the best super powers The Club could have in Second Life.
