Altadyn Launches Browser-Based Meetings
Altadyn announced today the release of Online Meetings, a new product offering in the latest update to its 3DXplorer browser-based virtual world platform. Online Meetings offers the basics of Web conferencing, like shared presentations, IM, and voice chat through Skype, and packages them with a 3D space in the browser for avatars to assemble and collaborate. The company says that users can share applications or full desktops, projecting content on a screen in the conference space with virtual laser pointers used to guide attention. Premium subscriptions--users can try the service for free if they're willing to put up with watermarked sessions--come at $49/month or $499/year.
“Online Meeting offers a great alternative for companies looking for a unique way to capture interest of participants and engage them on a deeper level,” Altadyn President Darius Lahoutifard said in a statement. “In our experience, when users have more interactive options, the meeting is more entertaining, inclusive, and personal than the standard faire, which participants might approach more passively. Users pay more attention to the proceedings and feel more present in the animated context.”
