eGuardian and Woogi World have launched a new feature for the kids virtual world titled "Every Kid Votes." The aim of the two is to encourage voting behavior early on with elementary-age children. According to the announcement, the campaign is through a partnership with academic classroom supplement, Studies Weekly, and 55,000 teachers nationwide. If children sign up through Every Kid Votes, they'll get access to all of Woogi World (I'm assuming that includes areas previously limited to premium subscribers) and be encouraged to take part in political discussions and voting. Woogi World and eGuardian previously partnered to add safety controls, so they're touting the environment as both safe and politically enabling.
"The United States is 139th in the world in voter turnout," said Ron Zayas, chief executive officer, eGuardian. "We, as a country, need to re-instill in our children the importance of the right and responsibility to vote. Every Kid Votes is a great way to empower our children, giving them the opportunity to cast their vote and participate in the upcoming presidential election in a safe online atmosphere."
