Twofish announced today that it had secured $4.5 million from original investors TriplePoint Capital, Rustic Canyon, and Venrock. The money will go towards developing Twofish Elements, its toolset for virtual banking, inventory, and commerce systems. Twofish also announced that it had hired Bill Grosso as CTO and Vice President of Engineering and Itamar Kande as Senior Director of Product Marketing and Sales.Gross previously was CTO and Vice president of Engineering at Engage.com and vice president of engineering at Echopass; Kande comes from Symantec and Veritas. We spoke to CEO Lee Crawford in February when Twofish launched.
“Monetizing the social web doesn’t have to be so difficult,” Crawford said in a statement.. “The challenges in managing a retail or economic infrastructure are the same online as they are off. Offline companies use ERP solutions to provide an integrated view of complex business operations, and now, online companies can use the first-ever DRP solution, Twofish Elements, in exactly the same way.”
