Second Interest, a Berlin-based virtual worlds agency, announced today that it had signed an agreement with Metaversum to develop concepts and content for Twinity, its mirror world which recently launched to a public beta, as well as its customers and partners. Second Interest's first project will be to build and furnish virtual apartments for Twinity's virtual Berlin, though the company describes its larger focus as developing business models, operating communities, and consulting brands on the sale of virtual goods for virtual worlds.
This marks the move out of stealth mode for Second Interest, which also recently hired Stephan Keisers (a former project manager at Anshe Chung Studios) as Creative Director and Silvio Remus (founder of Germany’s Second Life community website SL Inside) as Community Manager. CEO Michael Schumann added that the company just finished a round of financing, raising a total of $500,000 from angel investors.
