MindFuse Raises $1M from Keiretsu Forum
MindFuse announced today that it had raised $1 million in convertible note funding from the angel investor group Keiretsu Forum. Since its launch in 2006, MindFuse has raised an additional $750,000 in two rounds from angels. The company describes itself as a developer of virtual worlds and MMOGs and will use the money for development of its upcoming title, The World of Gatheryn, a high-end casual MMO with a steampunk aesthetic focusing on interaction and casual games. MindFuse is aiming for a test launch in Spring 2009. According to VentureBeat, the company plans to raise an undisclosed venture round within the next month.
“The richest massively multiplayer universes have been largely violent fantasy worlds,” CEO Joseph Walters said in a statement. “Casual, friendly games on the other hand feel more like a snack than a feast. MindFuse is going to bring the two types of gameplay and players together – simple, compelling games embedded in a deep three dimensional world”
