Just Leap In Adds Avatars to Browser-Based World
Just Leap In, the browser-based 3D world and social network that debuted in August, announced a set of new features today, including RSS feeds for friends' activities, content and spaces, popularity ranking for worlds, and, importantly, controllable avatars. They still sound basic, but Just Leap In, which lets users create their own 3D spaces, says its a step towards wider control. Unfortunately, I can only access the demo space, which doesn't seem to include the avatars.
"You can now select and control a character in the Just Leap In world – just click “Identities” to pick one. To view your avatar in action, click the “person” icon at the top-right of any space, or use your scroll wheel to zoom out," explains the Just Leap In blog. "(This is just the first step towards fully functioning avatars: over the coming weeks we’ll add key features like networking and customization)."
