Vivaty Rolls out Firefox Support, New Scenes, and Early Facebook Gift Integration
Vivaty announced this week that it had begun integrating its virtual with Firefox and deepened its integration with Facebook. The first phase involves support for Firefox 3 due to heavy demand with Firefox 2 coming soon, said Heidi Perry, VP, Marketing. For Facebook, Vivaty previously integrated its scenes and friends lists, but now it's getting a bit more of a viral boost by tying its gifting system to Facebook's newsfeed. Perry says the company will continue to release new features every two weeks "to evolve the Vivaty experience to include more ways to socialize and interact with friends."
Vivaty also updated the way users can interact with scene creation. Users have been able to create their own rooms for sometime, but now they can list them in the public directory, creating an opportunity for a broad network of connected, public spaces designed by individuals across Facebook, the Web, and AIM.
Vivaty also launched its first Social Scene, the beach-themed Escape Cove. The Social Scenes offer professionally designed public spaces as complements to user-designed areas as well as an opportunity for branded environments.
"Social Scenes allow people to enter a pre-defined scene with the primary goal of socializing with friends (existing and new)," explained Perry. "Social Scenes are currently created by Vivaty but could easily be created around brands or partners. Escape Cove is our first social scene built with several social areas within it – a media viewing area, a beachfront tented area, lounge chairs, etc."
