RocketOn and Animax announced today a partnership to co-develop parallel virtual worlds. RocketOn, which is currently approaching a public beta of its own world, will run the platform side: integrating and hosting content wile providing billing, commerce, analytics, maintenance, and support. Animax just last week announced a new division to focus on strategic development of virtual worlds, and as a part of the deal it will manage strategy, produce a marketing plan, and produce creative assets. The agency will also likely be bringing in brands from its existing clients, which run the gamut from Disney to Yahoo.
“RocketOn is a great way to launch and manage parallel virtual worlds,” says Michael Bellavia, CEO of Animax. “It enables us to create rich browser-based, virtual environments anywhere on the web without a user download. In a matter of weeks, we can literally build out a virtual space, deploy it on a website and populate it with content.”
