Rivers Run Red has entered into a strategic partnership with Linden Lab to develop enterprise tools for Second Life, RRR Communications Director Mimi Harris told me yesterday. Linden will exclusively license Rivers' Immersive Workspaces Platform, announced earlier this year. The two will jointly develop and market new products and services built on their existing technologies and platforms. When Rivers' first launched the platform, CEO Justin Bovington said the company was interested in looking at multiple platforms. Since then, however, he's said that he's found nothing to rival both the capabilities and price point of the Second Life Grid for end users.
“Linden Lab has provided us with the most versatile, advanced platform on which to develop our solutions,” said Bovington. “This agreement will now allow us to work more closely to create and deliver the most relevant solutions for the emerging virtual enterprise market.”
At the Virtual Worlds Expo today, RRR will also be showing off version 2.0 of its platform with Linden Lab (Booth 207). According to the company, the new version will feature "admin tools, data visualization, a media upload and archive feature, and the real killer - a screen-sharing feature allowing you to share your computer screen for all meeting participants to view in the 3D space, in real time."
Rivers Run Red will be showing off a large, interactive demo at the booth today at 2:05 pm and tomorrow at 10:35 am with normal demoes available at other times throughout the show.

It seems that the announcement has been pulled from the RRR website in the last day or so...
And it never appeared as a news item from Linden Lab...
So what's the deal here?
