A-SpaceX Announcement Coming Soon?

"A broad agency announcement is soon expected for the first phase of A-SpaceX which will seek to use and develop virtual worlds to explore how manipulating time frames and mapping decision processes can improve intelligence analysis," reports FCW.com. A-SpaceX, or Analyst Space for Exploitation, is an ongoing project to create analytical space for intelligence community workers, offering both virtual desktops for individual projects and a time-and-space malleable virtual world for tracking and predicting events. The first phase will take about 18 months, but the project is expected to run for several phases and cost millions of dollars. The recently formed IARPA has taken an increasing interest in virtual worlds for intelligence work and hosted an Industry Day for A-SpaceX in July.
