CineStar Group Launches with Dark Knight Theme in Twinity

Metaversum announced today that the CineStar group, Germany’s largest cinema operator,  had joined the upcoming mirror world Twinity, adding a virtual version of CineStar CUBIX at Alexanderplatz to virtual Berlin. The scale replica of Berlin will be opening soon, but the theatre is open today. Through a partnership with Warner Bros., Cinestar is opening with a Dark Knight theme, including a merchandising shop, an event hall for Dark Knight parties, and a competition to find Dark Knight screenshots. More generally the cinema will show off general film content like movie trailers, Flash games based on current movies, and highlights from this year’s Bitfilm festival, which joined Twinity in June. The CineStar build was created by Force Sunrise.

"We were immediately impressed by the idea of a virtual platform that promotes factors such as social interaction and shared experience that are so crucial to the cinema experience," Stephan Lehmann, Managing Director Marketing & Merchandise at CineStar, said in a statement. "Twinity gives us completely new ways of addressing specific target groups; the convergence we frequently endeavor to realize is taken to a whole new dimension here," continued Lehmann.
