Sony recently announced that it would feature Nike inside of Home, the upcoming console-based world for the Playstation 3, but Home as always been touted as a safe place for brands. As it's on a game console, though, the game-related aspects have taken much of the focus from the enthusiast press. In fact some executives have said the early focus over-emphasized non-gaming aspects. It doesn't seem like that's the entire company's focus, though.
"Home is somewhat related to games," Kaz Hirai, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, told GamesIndustry.biz. "It will start as being a very games-centric experience, but it has the potential to expand into other non-game service and applications. This is a B2B play, but the dynamic in-game advertising for example - again, another revenue source that's not related to the traditional way of selling video games." [via GamesIndustry.biz]
