ourWorld Stat Shot: Hits 100,000 Registrations
ourWorld, the youth-oriented virtual world with a casual games twist, announced today that it had hit the
100,000 registration mark since its beta launch in April. In other stats from the press release, it seems like those aren't all empty registrations: returning users account for over 50 percent of the daily traffic and have logged more than 200,000 hours in world in less than 70 days, with the average player spends an hour per day on the site. When ourWorld went public in April, it was already seeing 50% of its first-time users return within 48 hours, but users were only averaging 20-minute sessions. They could be putting in 3 of those per day, but it sounds like the world could also just be getting stickier.
"ourWorld was created to deliver a vibrant online destination for users who are looking to get a more immersive experience out of casual gaming and other online entertainment," Derrick Morton, founder and CEO of ourWorld, said in a statement. "The response we've seen from users to date is astounding, and the site traffic has grown much faster than our original projections. It is very rewarding to see that our platform is resonating with casual gamers and online consumers around the globe."
