Linden Lab, Multiverse Sign As Early Sponsors of Virtual Worlds London

In a sign of the continued growth of the worldwide market for virtual worlds technologies both Linden Lab and The Multiverse Network, Inc. have stepped up as early sponsors of Virtual Worlds London (taking place 20-21 October 2008 in London). Virtual Worlds London is the premier event for European companies seeking to harness virtual world technologies for enterprise or consumer business opportunities. The United Kingdom and Europe are extremely important markets for virtual world technology deployment. Virtual Worlds London is the first Virtual Worlds Conference and Expo outside of the US.

Both companies have also signed contracts to sponsor Virtual Worlds Expo, taking place in Los Angeles, California on 3-4 September 2008.

Linden Lab is the creator of Second Life and the Second Life Grid platform. Second Life Grid enables organizations to create a public or secure private space using the leading 3D online virtual world technology. Multiverses development platform is designed to enable a network of unique worlds. The company's technology has changed the industry's economics by empowering development teams to create high-quality worlds, including social spaces, online games, and training and business collaboration environments, for less money and in less time than ever before.

Corey Bridges, co-founder and executive producer of Multiverse, believes this is the breakout year for virtual worlds. "Not only will we finally see deep integration with social networks, which will bring virtual worlds truly into the mainstream, we'll also see ultra-useful 'killer apps' for the enterprise, with measurable ROI," Bridges said. "The innovators who are building this future will be in attendance at Virtual Worlds London this fall."

"We are pleased to welcome two virtual world technology leaders," said Christopher Sherman, Executive Director of Virtual Worlds London. "The United Kingdom and Europe are extremely important markets for virtual world technology. Additional sponsors, supporters and exhibitors will be announced shortly." The call for speakers is open and professionals interested in speaking are invited to submit proposals before 30 May 2008 online at www.VirtualWorldsLondon.com.
