WeeWorld Opens API to Integrate New Partners
WeeWorld has already seen success integrating its avatars into sites like the UK's NHS and USA Network's USA Character Game Lounge. Today the avatar service announced that it was opening up its API to deepen its relationship with the NHS and USA as well as to attract new partners. It shouldn't be hard to draw new interest either:in the Game Lounge, ranked by comScore as one of the Top 50 Gaming sites in February, 60 percent of all registered users have made a WeeMee. "WeeWorld's extensive reach and suite of avatar assets and networking features appeals to users of all ages and backgrounds," Alexandra Shapiro, Senior Vice President, Brand Marketing, USA Network, said in a statement. "The WeeMee integration to USA Network's Character Arcade adds a unique and personal element to our gaming experience and keeps our users continuously engaged. We are proud to partner with WeeWorld and look forward to finding new ways to evolve and grow our partnership."
WeeMees have already been added to various chat and IM applications, like Windows Live Messenger, AIM and Skype, letting users customize their identities through their avatars. Various smaller websites have also incorporated WeeMee identities.
"Today's consumers demand self-expression and personal communication throughout their online lives. As we build on the successes of our partner program, consumers will be able to use and access their WeeMees on more and more sites," said Lauren Bigelow, General Manager and SVP of Marketing, WeeWorld. "The opening of our API pushes WeeWorld's reach even further as WeeMees quickly become the avatars of choice for brands and service providers around the globe. In fact, more enhancements are already in the pipeline for our API to ensure our growing list of partners will be able to seamlessly personalize the experience on their sites."
