Playhut's GoLive2 Debuts Virtual World-Connected Toys

Playhut, maker of the Playland EZTwist tents and tunnels and Mystikat toys, launched an interactive toys division, GoLive2, with two virtual worlds back in October. The worlds targeted at kids from 6-13, Wowbotz for boys and Mystikats Kutties for girls, now have toys to go with them. The company will release four Kuttiez and four Wowbotz with matching accessory packs in the spring of 2008. Unlike most other meta-toys that just give kids access to the world, GoLive2 is making users work for them. Each toy comes with its own mini-games that in turn unlock passcodes that give users access to new areas in the virtual worlds.  “I founded Playhut with the goal to bring a new way of play to the marketplace,” said Brian Zheng, CEO of Playhut. “With GoLive2 we are offering kids and their parents a very different and unique way of playing, based off the question, ‘How do you play?’ GoLive2 innovates play in a way that has not yet been introduced to the Toy Industry.”

HONG KONG--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Toy industry pioneer Playhut Inc. today unveiled its new interactive toy       and Internet gaming division, GoLive2, and the divisions       debut of two new play lines K       and S       at the Hong Kong Toy Fair, January 7-10, 2008.

While Playhut will continue to develop innovative toys and play       structures that encourage imaginative and explorative ways to play,       GoLive2 extends Playhuts interactive play       focus to the ever-expanding online world. From online portals and       websites to new electronic toys and gadgets, GoLive2 continues Playhuts       heritage by once again changing the way kids and adults play.

I founded Playhut with the goal to bring a       new way of play to the marketplace, said       Brian Zheng, CEO of Playhut. With GoLive2 we       are offering kids and their parents a very different and unique way of       playing, based off the question, How do you       play? GoLive2 innovates play in a way that       has not yet been introduced to the Toy Industry.

      Reaching Beyond Traditional Play:       GoLive2 - K

The GoLive2 K Line has two distinct, but connected components. The first       component, introduced in October, consists of two massive multi-player       online (MMO) virtual worlds for kids age 6-13 years: the boy-inspired,       robot-themed Wowbotz and the girl-influenced, Kuttiez.       GoLive2 currently has more than 20,000 members.

The second component, making its debut at Hong Kong Toy Fair, will offer       a line of toys that complement the Wowbotz and Kuttiez       online experiences. The toy line includes eight individual charactersfour       Kuttiez and four Wowbotzalong with matching       accessory packs. Each toy contains mini-games that unlock pass codes,       enhancing online game play by adding new areas within each virtual       world. The toys will be available for retail in spring of 2008.

      Taking Gaming to a New Level GoLive2 -       S

Scheduled for a spring 2008 launch in China and a fall 2008 launch in       the U.S., GoLive2s S Line adds a new       dimension to video game console play. The S line differs from other       gaming platforms by freeing players from the costs and limitations of       traditional consoles and bringing them to an online platform.

With GoLive2 S, players plug the wireless controller       called Stix into their computer and       access 50+ games on the GoLive2 game platform, known as Sphere.       Designed for players age 6 to adult, the games have comparable graphical       quality and sophistication to many popular console games on the market       today.

      About GoLive2

Created in 2007, GoLive2 brings the hands-on appeal of traditional play       to the excitement of online game-play, creating a safe and imaginative       new world for kids and parents alike. With its innovative new gaming       platform, GoLive2, an independent division of Playhut Inc., has       pioneered an entirely new interactive play category featuring three       distinct play paradigms: K, S, and GX.
