IBM entered into a strategic agreement with Chinese virtual world company UOneNet yesterday, according to RedlineChina. UOneNet first came to our attention in September when it announced that it was developing a virtual world, uWorld, for release in the first quarter of 2008. Its founder, Eric Ye, was a former software architect at IBM, so the partnership seems natural. We learned in Novemeber that the company was also working with the CRD, giving IBM plenty of resources to work with in Asia. It seems as if it's being crafted as a response to Second Life, which UOneNet has found that most Chinese users don't understand. Pacific Epoch is also reporting that IBM will establish a virtual campus and that its"global digital convergence department and IBM China Research Lab will work with UOneNet to develop and conduct studies on the virtual platform and business." Nice addition to the commercial we all see on the TV every day. :)

How ridiculous - Chinese users "don't understand" Second Life. For example: http://www.cnsecondlife.com/bbs/ and http://www.secondlifecn.com/ and http://www.secondlife.org.cn/
Considering Ansche Chung Studios is based in China, I think that statement is quite laughable.
It's pretty obvious their Government is trying to limit access to SL.
