Gaia Online Partners with MochiAds for Flash Game Contest

Gaia Online announced the “Flash Rock Star Games Contest” today with MochiAds, the online games ad network of Mochi Media. The three-month contest (ending March 31) is based around finding new Flash games and developers, with the winners, selected by Gaia users and a panel of judges, receiving over $25,000 in cash and prizes and potential development contracts with Gaia. Gaia Online is the first site to take advantage of MochiAds' custom API that allows developers to create games that communicate with publisher sites and provide custom leader boards. Gaia is using the system to integrate games with its chat and avatar system and will receive a premium catalog of games tied to virtual currency and rewards inside the world. "This contest is a unique opportunity for Flash game developers to get the exposure they deserve,”  Mochi Media CEO Jameson Hsu said in a statement. “There are a lot of talented developers out there, and we’re excited to bring them tools that increase community interaction with their games.”
