RTMAsia Bringing Linden Lab's Second Life to China
RTMAsia, a company that specializes in helping technology companies from around the world accelerate their business in the Asia Pacific region, is representing Linden Lab and its Second Life virtual world and Second Life Grid platform in China. I had the opportunity to have dinner with Josh Xu, Business Development Manager, with RTMAsia/Linden Lab during my recent trip to Beijing. Under the terms of the agreement, RTMAsia will act as direct representatives for Linden Lab in China, responsible for the development of business partnerships, management of business operations and liaison with media and industry bodies.

"China is set to be the largest broadband enabled market in the world and represents an exciting growth opportunity for Linden Lab," said Ginsu Yoon, Vice President, Business Affairs at Linden Lab in August when the deal was announced. "RTMAsia provides us with the knowledge and local presence required to succeed in China’s unique cultural, regulatory and demographic environment."
Last week saw a rumor that Linden Lab had opened an office in Beijing to bring Second Life into China, but the company refused to confirm any presence or intention. The Linden's RTM relationship is similar to it's relationship with T-Entertainment to help increase Second Life's presence in Korea (details here).
