In 2006, Marc Bragg filed a complaint against Linden Lab, claiming that the company unfairly terminated his account, robbed him of his virtual property, and misrepresented themselves as allowing users to "own" land. Today Linden announced that the Lab, Philip Rosedale, and Bragg have all agreed to settle the suit on confidential terms. However, the suit did lead to an update of the virtual world's TOS after a judge ruled the previous terms a "contract of adhesion." "The parties agree that there were unfortunate disagreements and miscommunications regarding the conduct and behavior by both sides and are pleased to report that Mr. Bragg’s “Marc Woebegone” account, privileges and responsibilities to the Second Life community have been restored," blogged Marty Linden. "For the benefit of the Second Life community, the Parties have mutually agreed that the terms of their resolution shall remain confidential. The Parties ask that this confidentiality be respected."
