Brain-Computer Interface for Second Life
Jun’ichi Ushiba of the Keio University Biomedical Engineering Laboratory has developed a brain-computer interface application for Second Life that allows users to walk back and forth using only mental commands. The plans for the future are to include more complex movements that may eventually allow people with severe physical disabilities the ability to conduct business and interact inside of virtual worlds, reports PinkTentacle.com. You can view video here. In June we reported that a team from the Graz University of Technology in Austria and University College London had developed a similar setup with a 90% success rate.
