Red Mushroom to Produce a Chinese Webkinz

Webkinz and Rescue Pets: MyePets.com are filling up the plush-turned-virtual-world market here in the states while BarbieGirls.com is the fastest growing virtual world ever. Chinese game developer Red Mushroom is getting in on the action with BaoBao BengBeng. What separates the approach is that all of these other products come from toy companies incorporating online interaction. It sounds like Red Mushroom is coming from the opposite direction and bringing game development experience to toys. The game will be free to play with point cards available for purchase in the real world. BaoBao BengBeng will release in Beijing, and the dolls will then spread to other major cities across China.
